Age friendly cities small group sessions

Help make Knox one of the best communities to age-well in, by participating in a small group session to discuss key topics including community safety, community transport, stretching your weekly budget and emergency planning and preparedness.

In 2019, Knox City Council became a member of the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Global Network and commenced working towards becoming an age-friendly community.

At the beginning of this process, we conducted an Age-Friendly survey in 2020 to understand our baseline and the feedback obtained helped create key actions outlined in the Knox Child, Youth and Seniors Plan 2021-2025.

Three years later in October 2023, we issued a second survey and received 627 responses. The purpose was to assess if there had been any improvements in the age-friendliness of Knox as per the eight interconnected domains of urban life outlined by the WHO.

The 2023 survey data has identified a number of themes, for which we would like to explore with community through a series of small group sessions.
