Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man in relation to the aggravated assault of a woman in Darwin overnight.
Around 10pm police were called to reports of an aggravated assault involving a man and a woman at a fast food restaurant at Coconut Grov, Northern Territory Police saye
It is alleged a man used a chair to repeatedly assault a 25-year-old woman until a member of the public intervened and stopped the assault.
Police arrested the man at the scene. The woman was transported to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
The man has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assaulted and has been bailed to appear before court on November 14.
