Taskforce Wayward detectives are investigating an aggravated home invasion in Tarneit on Friday 17 August, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a woman had parked her car in the garage of her Habitat Court home about 8.20pm when she was followed inside by four male youths, who ransacked the home.
One of the youths produced a machete and punched the woman to the face before making demands for her vehicle.
The male sped off in the car while the other three offenders fled on foot.
The 34-year-old victim sustained facial injuries and was treated at the scene.
Her car, a black Hyundai Elantra sedan with registration ART775, remains outstanding.
The four youths are perceived as African in appearance.
Images of a similar vehicle have been released in the hope someone knows its current whereabouts.
