"The Australian Industry Group, on behalf of Victorian industry, is deeply saddened and expresses our condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the Victorian police who lost their lives last night," Tim Piper, the Head of Ai Group Victoria said today.
"The State police are vital to our society and we rely on them to daily put themselves at risk to serve and protect our community.
"It's a terrible day when anybody does not return home from work. The police place themselves in the line of duty every day and for last night's event to occur was profoundly shocking to us all.
"The entire Victorian community is saddened by this event and our condolences are given to all of those affected," Mr Piper said.
