The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) congratulates Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and the Albanese government on their second election victory.

The AICD, as the independent and trusted voice of good governance representing a membership of more than 53,000 company directors and senior business and not-for profit sector leaders, looks forward to working with a second term Albanese Government to promote good governance and policies that will foster productivity and maintain our international competitiveness.

Results of the most recent Director Sentiment Index (DSI), which has been running for over 14 years and is the only survey tracking directors' opinions on business and economic attitudes, indicated that almost 70 per cent of directors believe that major business deregulation agenda will have a positive impact on Australia's productivity and economic growth.

AICD Managing Director and CEO, Mark Rigotti, said, "The Albanese government must take this chance to reinvigorate the national conversation around productivity and international competitiveness. It has been in the too-hard basket for too long. Labor has an important opportunity to take a long term policy view that sets our nation up for success".

The AICD also acknowledges outgoing Leader of the Opposition, Peter Dutton, for his more than two decades in federal politics including in a range of ministerial portfolios.
