Some of the world's best basketballers will round out a massive month of activity at the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) Campus with the NBL Blitz taking over Canberra.

It's the first time the pre-season tournament has been held at the AIS Arena and comes right after the Canberra Brave wrapped up their debut season at the venue in front of a string of sell-out crowds.

Meanwhile, the high performance gym has experienced one of its busiest periods with World Championship preparations were underway across multiple sports.

Archery Australia hosted its Para team at the AIS ahead of the World Archery Para Championships in Korea, while Rowing Australia's Para squad trained for the World Rowing Championships in China.

Boxing Australia's seniors got in their final rounds of sparring before travelling to compete in England, while the artistic swimming youth team were refining their routine ahead of their World Championships in Athens.

Beyond championship preparations, the Women's Volleyroos thrilled crowds with a 4-1 Trans-Tasman Test Series victory over New Zealand's Volleyferns team, while Basketball Australia's National Indigenous Performance Camp brought together 30 of the nation's most talented young athletes for four days of training and cultural connection.

Gymnastics Australia are looking ahead to LA2028, with a six-day camp for senior men's artistic gymnasts focused on foundational skills and a team-first culture. The group also took part in a community engagement session, partnering with OzHarvest to cook more than 150 meals for communities in need.

In total, more than 340 athletes across 10 sports took part in 14 high-performance camps during August.

It wasn't just elite athletes making the most of the AIS campus though with our interactive sports exhibition Sportex officially reopening to the public. Four new exhibits Snowboarding, Sports Hub, Soccer, and a Multi-sport section are waiting for those ready to test their skills in a fun and safe environment.

The momentum continues in September with the Socceroos returning to take on New Zealand for the ANZAC Soccer Ashes, alongside training camps for the Junior Matildas, Basketball Australia's Rollers, Swimming Australia's Para Flippers, multiple netball squads and more.
