Griffith City Council is reminding local businesses of the requirements for displaying advertising signage on Council-managed footpaths and road reserves.
Council has recently identified an increase in unapproved advertising signs, flags, banners, A frames, and other promotional structures being placed on public land. Businesses are advised that any advertising signage located on footpaths or road reserves requires prior Council approval.
Council supports and values the efforts of Griffith businesses to promote their products and services. However, it is essential that all advertising activities comply with Council's policies and procedures to ensure public safety, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
Council requests that business owners review their current signage arrangements. If you do not have approval for advertising structures currently placed on Council land, please remove them. Council will be undertaking a formal review of all advertising signage located on public footpaths and road reserves.
Businesses wishing to continue using advertising signage in these areas will be required to obtain Council approval. All applications must be accompanied with current Public Liability Insurance, which is a mandatory requirement for any advertising structure placed on public land.
Council appreciates the cooperation of the business community in helping to maintain safe and accessible public spaces.
