Shellharbour City Council is pleased to welcome the community back to Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool, with the facility reopening ahead of schedule following the successful completion of its annual maintenance program.
Originally scheduled to reopen on Saturday, 22 August 2026, the pool has reopened early after Council crews completed essential maintenance works ahead of schedule.

The annual maintenance program included cleaning, surface preparation and repainting of the pool, along with maintenance to the plant room and inlet line to help ensure the facility continues to operate safely and efficiently.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said he was pleased to welcome swimmers back earlier than planned.
"We're delighted to welcome the community back to Beverley Whitfield Ocean Pool ahead of schedule," Mayor Homer said.
"This pool is a special place for many people across Shellharbour, whether it's for a morning swim, exercise or simply spending time by the water.
"I'd like to thank our staff for their hard work in completing the maintenance ahead of schedule, and our community for their patience while the pool was temporarily closed. It's fantastic that residents and visitors can now get back to enjoying this much-loved facility."
The works form part of Council's ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing community facilities across the city.
Council thanks pool users for their understanding during the maintenance period and encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the refreshed facility as the weather begins to warm up.
