Construction is progressing on the $25 million NT Health Staff Accommodation Project in Alice Springs.
Territory Company Whittaker Street Developments are constructing the accommodation which will provide increased residential accommodation options for hospital workers in the Red Centre.
The precinct is centrally located between Todd Street and South Terrace, and consists of:
41 one bedroom units;20 two bedroom units; and10 three bedroom units.
The development also includes undercover car parking, a swimming pool, BBQ and outdoor eating areas, gymnasium, undercover children's play area and a central waste disposal area.
Once finished, the facility will play a key role in attracting and retaining key health professionals and staff in Central Australia.
This week, NT Health will commence a new campaign to attract more health staff to the Territory, particularly focusing on the recruitment of doctors and nurses. This campaign involves a new recruitment website highlighting lifestyle and employment benefits and why a great career in health goes with the Territory.
