All Refugee #KidsOffNauru

World Vision Australia welcomes the news that the last four refugee children living in Australian offshore detention have departed Nauru for settlement in the USA.

"Today's announcement is a triumph for compassion and humanity," said World Vision CEO Claire Rogers.

"As we move forward, we must pause and reflect on the process that resulted in the imprisonment of children in Australian offshore detention.

"On this day we must not forget the many adults still living in offshore detention in Manus and Nauru, many of them were children and young adults themselves when they entered the system.

"All children, women and men have the right to be safe and free. We need to ensure the refugee families are given a chance to set up permanent homes with certainty for the future.

"There is more work to be done," concluded Ms Rogers.
