Tasmania has reached an all-time record low unemployment rate of 3.7 per cent.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics has confirmed the incredible achievement, which builds on the State's strong run of record low unemployment.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said this is a strong sign of the excellent business conditions we have across Tasmania.
"I want to acknowledge Tasmania's business community, which continues to work side by side with the Government to keep our economy strong," Premier Rockliff said.
"This all-time record low unemployment rate is something that all Tasmanians can celebrate.
"Tasmania has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation, and our economy is worth a record $40.6 billion.
"We are delivering for Tasmania."
The figures also reveal Tasmania's highest participation rate in more than 18 months.
Treasurer Eric Abetz said our Liberal Government is working across business and industry to keep our State moving forward.
"Jobs are looking for people in Tasmania, and that's a fantastic challenge to have," Treasurer Abetz said.
"Our Government will continue to focus on strengthening the economy, supporting businesses, and investing in skills, training, and infrastructure – ensuring Tasmania remains the best place in the nation to live, work, and invest."
Since 2014, the number of Tasmanians in work has grown by nearly 51,000 people – a testament to the Liberal Government's focus on economic growth and the resilience of Tasmanian businesses and communities.
