Alleged drink driver crashes into two houses in Essendon

Police are expected to charge a driver who allegedly crashed into two houses in Essendon before returning an evidentiary breath test of 0.166 overnight.

Investigators believe the 47-year-old Essendon man lost control of his 2018 black GT Mustang and crashed into two Glass Street homes about 1.45am this morning.

The seven occupants home at the time were uninjured and there was minor damage to each premises.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

He undertook a preliminary breath test and was transported to Fawkner Police Station where he returned an alleged reading of 0.166.

His licence was immediately suspended, and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and traffic related offences.

The man will appear before Broadmeadows Magistrate's Court at a later date.
