Altone Ward Extraordinary Election Result

A new Councillor has been elected in the City of Swan following an extraordinary election in the Altone Ward.

Jennifer Catalano received 1,962 votes and was sworn in on Thursday, April 11, joining current Mayor Cr David Lucas and Cr Andrew Kiely as an Altone Ward representative.

The other candidates – Mick Wainwright, Ric Purvis and Fiona Nichols - received 1,879, 1,258 and 341 votes respectively.

The extraordinary election took place after City of Swan CEO Mike Foley accepted the resignation of former Councillor Peter Lyndon-James in December last year.

Cr Catalano will join 14 other Councillors who represent the five Wards located in the City of Swan with her term running until October 16, 2021.
