Cessnock Library will host international bestselling romance author Alyssa J. Montgomery on Thursday 14 August 2025 from 5.30 – 6.30pm, with readers invited to an evening of delightful conversation, cake, and hot drinks as Montgomery discusses her writing journey, creative process, the inspiration behind her captivating stories, and her latest novel, 'Return to Hope Creek'.

Alyssa's novel 'Return to Hope Creek' tells the compelling story of Stella, whose sports career-ending accident leads her back to her rural hometown, where her plans for healing are then complicated by the unexpected return of ex-NFL star Mitchell Scott, the man who broke her heart a decade ago.

'Return to Hope Creek' has already garnered significant attention, winning runner-up in the Australian Romance Readers Awards for "Favourite Aussie-set Romance" and is currently one of three finalists for the prestigious Romance Writers of Australia (RWA) Romantic Book of the Year for 2024 (RUBY Award) in the long contemporary romance category.
