AMA, DVA Collaborate on Fair Fees for Veterans' Doctors

Australian Medical Association

We are continuing to work with the Department of Veteran Affairs to ensure new fee arrangements for doctors are fair and to ensure veterans are getting the care they need.

Late last year, the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Matt Keogh, undertook to update the fee schedule following federal AMA advocacy on the need for outdated fees to better reflect the actual costs to practitioners.

The federal AMA will continue to raise concerns over the level of DVA funding provided for medical services to veterans.

There has been a long-standing commitment from governments to ensure veterans can access high-quality care in a timely fashion and it’s time for DVA fees for medical services to reflect that commitment.
