An introduction to Meditation at Taree Library

MidCoast Council

Over the last 18 months the MidCoast region has been subject to a range of stressful situations so there's never been a better time to learn about meditation.

Join lay student practitioner from the Losang DragpaKadampa Buddhist Centre, Melissa Wills, for an introductory talk on meditation at Taree Library on Thursday 13 May from 6pm.

Meditation is a way of calming the mind, reducing stress and developing a more positive approach to life.

"Our lives are getting busier and no one could blame our community members for feeling stressed or anxious after the last 18 months," explained Chris Jones, MidCoast Council's Manager of Libraries and Community Services.

"That's why our team was so keen to bring Melissa here to introduce meditation to anyone on the MidCoast who might be interested. We could all benefit from it."

Suitable for everyone, this talk will provide the perfect opportunity to discover how meditation connects us with our potential for inner peace and happiness.

This feeling of inner peace helps us to cope with the business, difficulties and uncertainty of daily life, enabling us to remain balanced, positive and harmonious with others.

Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is required.

Melissa Wills has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for nine years.

Motivated by a deep wish for everyone to experience inner peace and happiness, Melissa teaches with warmth and humility and is a great example of a person who practices loving kindness.
