Andrews and Labor running scared on crushing new housing tax

Liberal Party Victoria

The Andrews Labor Government are running scared on their crushing new housing tax, which will increase by house prices by around $20,000.

And so they should be.

This crushing new tax is a kick in the guts to Victorian home-buyers look to buy a first home and get ahead.

This morning, Premier Andrews said that the future of the bill was "very, very uncertain".

In Question Time today, Assistant Treasurer Danny Pearson gave a different answer about the future of the new tax every time was asked.

First, he said it was a "matter for the Parliament".

Then, be blamed the Property Council for the new tax.

Then, he said that the Government will "reconsider" their position.

So which is it? Do the Government have the gumption to put this crushing new tax to the Parliament?

Or are the out of touch and arrogant Andrews Government going to humiliatingly back down on this crushing new tax, less than a week after announcing it?

The Liberals and Nationals will continue to fight this tax tooth and nail until it is dead and buried.
