Penrith City Council has completed works for Andromeda Drive Reserve in Cranebrook.
The upgrade has delivered additional car parking, resurfaced and line marked sports courts, along with new landscaping, pathways and seating for the community to enjoy.
The first stage of the infrastructure upgrade at this popular reserve was completed last year, which included drainage improvements on the eastern field and additional storage space in the amenities building.
Penrith Mayor Todd Carney said the completed project has further strengthened the reserve as a key sporting and recreation precinct for Cranebrook.
"These upgrades make Andromeda Drive Reserve more functional, accessible and welcoming for everyone who uses it," Cr Carney said.
"From improved parking on busy game days to upgraded courts for casual play, this project delivers real benefits for local families and sporting clubs."
The Andromeda Drive Reserve project is funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program ($1.7 million) and the Australian Government's Investing in Our Communities Program ($450,000), in partnership with Council.
Member for Penrith Karen McKeown OAM welcomed the completion of the upgrades and highlighted the benefits for the local community.
"It's fantastic to see the completion of these upgrades at Andromeda Drive Reserve, which will provide improved recreational spaces for local families and sporting groups."
"Through the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program, we're investing in projects that strengthen our local communities and enhance the places people come together to play, exercise and connect."
Senator for New South Wales Tony Sheldon said the project delivers genuine benefits for local families, schools and sporting clubs in Western Sydney.
"Better local facilities, safer spaces and more opportunities to get active for families, schools and sporting clubs - that's what investing in our communities looks like."
"Whether it's local weekend sport, after-school training or just getting outside, we want to see this space enjoyed by the whole community."
