The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) has welcomed the re-appointment of Senator Anne Ruston as Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care.
OPAN CEO Craig Gear OAM congratulated Senator Ruston, noting her dedication and commitment to older people and the aged care sector.
"We are pleased to see Senator Ruston retain the Health and Aged Care portfolio and look forward to continuing our working relationship with her," Mr Gear said.
"Senator Ruston has been a fierce advocate for aged care reform and played a key role in the review of the Aged Care Act, putting the wellbeing of older people at the core of her focus.
"She has shown a great interest and passion for older people and aged care which was displayed during her consultation with the sector during the drafting of the new Aged Care Act."
Mr Gear also congratulated Senator Ruston for being appointed the Shadow Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, and the Shadow Minister for Sport.
