A small section of wooden decking near the Pavilion will be replaced as part of a trial to make the area less slippery.
The new decking will be made from recycled plastic and is designed to offer more grip than wood when wet.
Work is scheduled to begin on September 6, and is expected to be completed within a week, weather permitting.
Small sections of the boardwalk will be closed while the work is carried out, and pedestrians are asked to observe all signage.
