ANZ Unveils National Plan for Financial Wellbeing

ANZ Bank

ANZ has today announced the launch of Financial Wellbeing Workshops, a new national program designed to improve the financial wellbeing of customers and communities across Australia.

The initiative will commence in September 2025, with in-person workshops spanning metro and regional communities across the country, delivered by the bank's longstanding community partner, The Smith Family.

The workshops will provide Australians with practical education about key financial safety topics - including how to stay safe from scams, use online banking safely, and access support for individuals experiencing financial hardship.

The bank is encouraging anyone looking to build their financial confidence and skills to attend a workshop. Each workshop location will be announced ahead of time, with the first workshop held in Mornington on September 17. They are free to attend and not limited to ANZ customers.

ANZ Head of Social Impact, Janet Liu, said: "Financial wellbeing starts with knowledge and support. ANZ's Financial Wellbeing Workshops will empower Australians with the support they need to navigate banking safely, protect themselves from scams, and access help. This initiative reflects our commitment to building stronger, safer communities across the country."

The workshops will incorporate MoneyMinded content - ANZ's flagship financial education program for adults seeking to build money management skills, knowledge, and confidence.

The Smith Family CEO, Doug Taylor said: "We're proud to partner with ANZ to deliver Financial Wellbeing Workshops in communities across Australia and by offering simple, practical tips, we're helping people participate online safely and support their families - giving every Australian the chance to thrive."

Each workshop will be one hour, and will include practical tips and group discussion facilitated by The Smith Family. Participants will be provided with take-home resources to share with family and friends.

The Financial Wellbeing Workshops support ANZ's purpose to improve the financial wellbeing of customers and communities by helping them make the most of their money throughout their lives.

The first workshop will be held in Mornington, Victoria at 10.30am on September 17.
