Appeal after body located at Broken Hill

An investigation is underway after the body of a man was located in Broken Hill yesterday.

About 12.50pm (Tuesday 25 January 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Burke Street, Broken Hill, following reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District attended and found the body of a man who had sustained a wound to his neck.

The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of a 47-year-old man.

A crime scene was established which was forensically examined and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death is underway with assistance from the Homicide Squad.

No arrests have been made in relation to the man's death and inquiries are ongoing under Strike Force Holder.
