Appeal after caf assault - Rosehill

An investigation is underway after a café employee was assaulted in Sydney's west yesterday.

Just after 11am yesterday (Thursday 9 June 2022), police were called to a café in the carpark of a supermarket on Oak Street, Rosehill, after reports of an assault.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and were told that a 27-year-old employee had a tray of coffee thrown at him by a customer.

The customer fled prior to police arrival. The incident was captured on CCTV which was posted on social media by the café staff.

Inquiries continue to identify and locate the man depicted who is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Appearance, aged in his 30s, with short black hair and a beard.

He is shown wearing a white and grey 'Champion' hooded jumper at the time.
