Appeal after fire - Trenayr

Police are appealing for information from the public as they continue to investigate a fire on the state's mid north coast.

About 6pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 November 2022), emergency services were called to a scrap metal yard on Trenayr Road, Trenayr, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and found about 30 vehicles well alight. The fire was contained about 9pm, however, had spread to approximately 1500 vehicles within the yard.

The fire has since been contained by Fire and Rescue NSW.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with four males, believed to have been travelling in a white dual cab utility on Trenayr Road, Trenayr, about 5.30pm yesterday.
