Appeal after reported child approach at Oxley Vale

Police are appealing for information after reports of a child approach in Oxley Vale yesterday.

About 8.50am, Wednesday 14 July 2021, a 12-year-old boy was walking towards the intersection of Higgins Lane and Manilla Road, Oxley Vale when he was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man exited the vehicle and attempted to grab the boy before he was able to get away from him.

Officers from Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 30-35, 195cms tall, wearing blacking clothing with a black beanie.

He was driving a maroon or brown SUV vehicle.
