Appeal after service station break-in at Bombala

Police are appealing for information after an ATM was stolen from a service station in the state's south this morning.

About 4am (Monday 5 October 2020), officers from Monaro Police District were called to the service station on Maybe Street, Bombala, about 90km south of Cooma, following reports of a break-in.

Police have been told three people, in dark clothing and face coverings, forced entry into the station before stealing an ATM containing cash and driving from the scene in a white Hyundai Ascent sedan about 3.30am the same day.

Officers established a crime scene and are investigating the incident. They're appealing for anyone who may have seen the car or people to contact police.

The car is described as a white Hyundai Ascent sedan (1999–2005 model), with the front left tyre replaced and the front left guard damaged.

The three people – believed to be male – were wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves.
