Appeal after sexual act onboard train at Hurstville

Police have released an image of a man following a sexual act while travelling on a train in Sydney's south late last month.

About 4.45pm on Thursday 23 March 2023, a female school student got on a train at Arncliffe travelling towards Hurstville.

Police have been told the female student was in the lower carriage when she noticed a man sitting on a seat nearby allegedly committing a sexual act.

The man left the train at Hurstville Railway Station.

The incident was reported to officers attached to Police Transport Command south west, who commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, officers would like to speak with a man they believe may be able to assist.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 18 to 23 years old, with blond hair and dark roots, wearing a black collared shirt, a green striped jumper, dark orange/ brown pants, brown and cream Adidas Yeezy shoes, holding a gold iPhone and carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.
