Appeal after woman indecently assaulted at Griffith

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted in Griffith this week.

About 12.50pm Wednesday (29 June 2022), police have been told a woman, aged 61, was shopping at a supermarket on Oakes Road, when an unknown man approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.

The woman confronted the man, who then left the store.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s or 40s, about 180cm-185cm tall, of medium build, with short brown hair. He is depicted wearing a brown long-sleeved T-shirt, beige pants with black pocket flaps and dark brown work boots. He was carrying a black backpack at the time.
