Appeal For Dashcam After Fatal Crash - Colinton

Police are appealing for dashcam footage following a fatal crash in the state's south this week.

About 12.15am yesterday (Sunday 1 March 2026), emergency services were called to the Monaro Highway, Colinton, about 10km south of Michelago, following reports two cars had crashed head-on.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and found the driver of one of the cars – a 36-year-old woman – deceased at the scene.

About 10.35am on Sunday 1 March 2026, a 39 -year-old man was located in a paddock, about 500m west of the crash site, before he was arrested and taken to Canberra Hospital where he remains.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for dashcam footage of a silver Toyota Prado on the Monaro Highway, Snowy Mountains Highway, Kosciusko Road and Alpine Way, between Williamsdale and Thredbo in the early hours of Sunday 1 March 2026.

Police are urging any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity on or before the time of the crash to contact Monaro Police District or Crime Stoppers.
