Appeal for driver of car after Greensborough collision

Greensborough Highway Patrol are appealing for the driver of a car to come forward following a collision on the Greensborough Bypass in January.

Police have been told the collision occurred as a silver coloured sedan was travelling towards the Metropolitan Ring Road (MRR) near the Plenty River Drive bridge on Friday 22 January about 3.10pm.

It's understood the silver sedan was seen to brake heavily as it cut into stationary traffic waiting to turn onto the MRR; this caused two cars directly behind the sedan to brake suddenly to avoid a collision.

Subsequently a dump truck with trailer was forced to take evasive action to avoid the collision and crashed into a barrier of the bridge.

The driver of the silver sedan, who may be oblivious to the traffic incident they caused, drove off from the scene without stopping to exchange details.

Anyone with dashcam or who may have details of the silver sedan that was involved is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
