Police investigating the homicide of Jamie Phillips in Sydney's south-west last year are appealing for public assistance.
About 1pm on Thursday 25 October 2018, officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were called to Englorie Park Drive, Rosemeadow, after the body of a man was found in a vacant lot.
The man was formally identified as 46-year-old Jamie Phillips of Campbelltown.
A post mortem was conducted, and it was determined he had died as a result of multiple injuries.
Local detectives, with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Hardey to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigations suggest Jamie was in the Rosemeadow and Ambarvale areas prior to his death, and was murdered during the evening of 24 October or early morning of 25 October, before his body was left in Glen Alpine.
Detective Inspector Greg Inger, Crime Manager at Campbelltown Police Area Command, said police are appealing for anyone with information about his murder to come forward.
"This was a cowardly and unprovoked crime that has had a devastating effect on the victim's family. Jamie suffered multiple serious injuries and we believe that more than one offender was involved. We believe it was a targeted attack"
"Today we have released CCTV images of Jamie which were taken on the afternoon prior to his murder, in the hope that it will jog someone's memory".
"Investigators continue to urge any witnesses or anyone who saw Mr Phillips in the Rosemeadow or Campbelltown areas in the days leading up to his death to come forward."
