Applications now open for 2019-20 Beautification Grants

Applications are currently open for Cardinia Shire Council's 2019–20 Beautification Grant program.

The program provides community groups and individuals with funds for landscape enhancement projects on areas of public open space. It provides funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis with a maximum of $2,000 per grant.

The funding may be used to cover the purchase of plant material, stakes, tree guards and mulch. Other landscaping materials such as street and park furniture are a lower priority.

Projects must be located within Cardinia Shire and finished by 30 June 2020. When the project is complete, grant recipients need to submit a project completion form, receipts for the materials used, and photos of the project.

Priority is given to projects that:

  • involve community groups
  • are in areas used frequently by the public, such as town centres, recreation reserves, halls and parks
  • improve the appearance of green, public open spaces
  • are in line with priorities identified in township strategies, landscape master plans and other strategic Council documents.

The program does not fund grants for projects requiring a vegetation removal permit, where funds may be obtained from other sources or on land that is not managed by Council.

Applications close 5pm, Monday 25 November 2019.
