Applications Open For Healthy Darwin Wet Season Program

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin is calling on local fitness instructors, health professionals and wellbeing providers to help deliver the next Healthy Darwin Wet Season program.

Each season, Healthy Darwin curates a range of low-cost weekly exercise sessions, workshops and short courses across the municipality, helping the community live healthier and more active lifestyles.

Lord Mayor Peter Styles said the program was a great opportunity for local providers while delivering lasting benefits for the community.

"Healthy Darwin makes it easy and affordable for people to get active, learn new skills and connect with others in their community," Mr Styles said.

"The program also provides a fantastic opportunity for local instructors and wellbeing providers to showcase what they do while helping improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

"We're encouraging anyone delivering eligible health and wellbeing activities to apply and be part of another successful Healthy Darwin season," he said.

Successful applicants will receive a $50 subsidy from City of Darwin for each 45 to 60-minute session, helping keep participant costs at just $5 per person for weekly activities or up to $10 per person, per hour, for workshops and short courses.

A partial venue hire subsidy may also be available for eligible providers.

Activities must be conducted in the Darwin municipality and be accessible, beginner-friendly and promote a healthy lifestyle for all.

The 2026-27 Healthy Darwin Wet Season program will run from October 2026 to March 2027.

Applications close at 8.00 am on Monday 24 August 2026 for the 2026-27 Healthy Darwin Wet Season program.

Healthy Darwin is a year-round initiative promoting active and healthy lifestyles, delivered in two rounds, the Dry Season (April - September) and the Wet Season (October-March).

Activities are delivered in local parks, community centres and pools, using Darwin's open spaces and recreation facilities to inspire movement and connection.
