Applications open for Youth Grants

Applications for Bass Coast Shire Council's Youth Grants Program are now open.

This exciting new Program will provide funding to support not-for-profit organisations, small businesses and education providers based in Bass Coast to deliver projects that benefit young people.

Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Michael Whelan said that each year, Council will provide $10,000 in funding through the Youth Grants Program, with eligible applicants able to seek 100 per cent of the total project cost, up to $3,000.

"One of the eligibility requirements for this Program requires that young people are actively involved in the design, development and implementation of the project," Cr Whelan said.

"This means that this funding will go towards projects that directly benefit Bass Coast youth."

The assessment panel will be made up of two members of Council's Youth Advisory Council, as well as Council Officers.

"The Youth Advisory Council members will work to ensure the funding will go towards projects that will be of greatest benefit to young people in Bass Coast," Cr Whelan concluded.

Applications for the Youth Grants will close on Tuesday, 15 March.
