Appointment of new Ai Group State Head for NSW – Helen Waldron

Ai Group is pleased to announce that Helen Waldron has been appointed Head of the NSW branch of the national employer association Ai Group.

Ms Waldron replaces long-standing State Head Mark Goodsell, who will continue with Ai Group in a national role.

Helen Waldron joined Ai Group in 2002 as the NSW Membership Manager. Over the years her responsibilities have greatly expanded to a national role, managing relationships with a diverse range of members from a variety of sectors as well as various teams across the country. In addition to her new role, Helen will remain Head of Member Relations nationally for Ai Group.

Helen is a leader in various mentoring programs and sits on a number of business advisory panels as well as being a speaker at events on a range of topics. After leaving her home in Ireland, she spent two years living in the US and Hong Kong before settling in Australia.

In welcoming the appointment, Ai Group Chief Executive, Innes Willox said: “Helen’s relationship-building skills will be a great asset for members in NSW as she works to ensure the views of employers are fully taken into account by state and local government representatives and other stakeholders.

“Helen has been a key figure in working to ensure member interests have been clearly understood during this pandemic and she aims to improve and expand the member services already provided successfully in the State.

“Ai Group and our members owe a great debt of gratitude to Mark Goodsell who has decided to step down from his role as NSW State Head.

“Mark has been a fixture with Ai Group for 36 years, firstly in an industrial relations capacity and, of course, for 22 years as our NSW Head. He has seen state governments come and go and has always provided sage and considered advice, putting the interests of our members first. He has been a terrific Ai Group representative and leader for us in NSW over a period when our economy and our membership has changed dramatically.

“Mark will continue with Ai Group providing advice, thought leadership and member focus in a number of key industry areas including safety and workplace mental health, albeit on a part-time basis,” Mr Willox said.
