ARA welcomes appointments of new Federal Ministers

Australian Retailers Association CEO Paul Zahra has welcomed the appointments of the new Federal Ministers announced today by the Prime Minister.

"It's important we have stability in our national leadership at a crucial time like this, so it's pleasing to see the bulk of the senior ministry remaining intact," Mr Zahra said.

"Our economy is delicately placed, and we need to stay the course to ensure there's a smooth recovery from the pandemic.

"I congratulate the Ministers on their new positions, in particular Amanda Stoker as Assistant Minister to the Attorney General, Jane Hume as Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy, and Alan Tudge as Minister for Education and Youth.

"Industrial relations reforms are currently before the Parliament and we look forward to their safe passage and working closely with Senator Stoker on their implementation.

"We're seeing more retailers embrace innovation and digital ways of working, so it's exciting to see how that will be progressed further under Senator Hume.

"The ARA, through its Retail Institute, is committed to upskilling and training staff to ensure they have prosperous careers, and we look forward to working with Minister Tudge on ways to strengthen training and development for young people.

"I again congratulate the Ministers on their new portfolios and look forward to working with them closely in the future."
