Armed Crime Squad arrest two following attempted armed robbery

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged two men following an alleged attempted armed robbery on Queensberry Street in North Melbourne last month.

It's understood a man was approached while inside his car, by two unknown men, about 3pm on 25 February .

The victim was allegedly assaulted by the two men before they fled empty-handed.

The victim was conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 46-year-old West Footscray man and a 44-year-old Sunshine man have been charged with attempted armed robbery, intentionally cause injury and other associated offences.

They appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning and have been remanded to re-appear on 29 May.
