Armed men hold up hotel in Wollongong suburb

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery of a hotel in Fairy Meadow this morning.

About 2.30am Friday, two men had closed a hotel on the Princes Highway and were in an upstairs office when two males entered the premises below.

Police have been told the intruders made their way upstairs when one of the males, armed with a handgun, threatened the employees.

The males fled the scene a short time later, taking cash.

The employees were uninjured.

Officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As investigations into the incident continue, police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist them.

One is described as being of solid build, about 170-175cm tall, and was seen wearing dark clothing and was carrying a handgun.

The second male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 178-182cm tall, of fit build, and was wearing dark clothing.
