Armed Offenders Steal Car In Woodville North

Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from Woodville North overnight.

At about 2am on Tuesday 14 April, a rideshare driver was seated in his Toyota sedan on Ninth Street when he was approached by two men, both armed with machetes, who arrived in a Toyota 4WD.

The suspects stole the man's car and personal property before fleeing the scene, with one offender driving off in the victim's sedan and the other departing in the 4WD.

The 24-year-old victim sustained minor injuries during the incident and contacted police shortly after.

Patrols tracked the stolen sedan using GPS and located it abandoned on Canning Street, Rosewater, about 3.40am. Police, with the assistance of Police Dog Arlo, searched the surrounding area, however, the suspects were not located.

The stolen vehicle was towed from the scene and will undergo forensic examination.

Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible and police urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area in and around Ninth Street, Woodville North, or Canning Street, Rosewater, to come forward.
