Armed Robberies appeal at Gladstone

Police investigating two armed robberies in Gladstone last week are appealing for information to help locate a 17-year-old boy they believe can assist with enquiries.

On June 28, a driver was parked at a shopping centre taxi rank on Shaw Street, New Auckland around 1.40pm when it is alleged an unknown offender entered the vehicle, threatened the male driver with a knife and demanded money.

The victim handed over a sum of cash and was not physically injured.

The offender has then exited the vehicle and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Then on July 4 in Gladstone, an offender allegedly entered a Chapman Drive shop around 4.20pm and threatened a female staff member with a knife before demanding a sum of cash from the register and fleeing the scene.

Police appeal to the 17-year-old boy to come forward and anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to not approach him but to contact police immediately.

Investigations are ongoing.
