Armed robbery and assault at Beenleigh

Police are investigating an armed robbery and assault in Beenleigh overnight resulting in a young man being transported to hospital.

At about 9.40pm four unknown men walked through a carpark at the end of Coral Street and approached another man demanding his mobile phone.

Police will allege the men assaulted a 21-year-old by striking him in the head and body repeatedly.

One of the men produced a knife and threatened the 21-year-old man prior to all four men leaving the scene on foot towards Beenleigh Train Station.

The 21-year-old received a swollen nose, lacerations and swelling to his lower lip and ear. He was transferred to Logan Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to contact police.
