Armed Robbery And Break And Enter Offences At Toowoomba

Police have charged a man and a teenage girl in relation to a number of armed robberies and an attempted break and enter in Toowoomba on July 2.

Around 7am an unknown man threatened a 39-year-old man with a machete at a Ruthven Street property before stealing a white Renault Kangoo.

The owner was not physically injured.

Around 8.25pm, police received reports of two people attempting to break into two vehicles and a home in Centenary Heights. Nothing was stolen and the offenders left the scene.

Around 8.35pm, two offenders were allegedly searching a Mitsubishi Triton parked at a Debra Street property in Centenary Heights when they were confronted by the vehicle's owner.

It is alleged the offenders then threatened the owner with a hammer demanding his car keys before they left the scene in the Mitsubishi Triton.

The 29-year-old owner was not physically injured.

On July 3, police located the stolen Mitsubishi Triton and the Renault Kangoo at an Orlando Court property in Wilsonton Heights and two people were taken into custody.

A 19-year-old Wilsonton Heights man has been charged with 11 offences including three counts of attempted enter premises with intent to commit, two counts of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of attempted enter premises with intent to commit whilst armed, attempted enter premises with intent to commit whilst armed in company, stealing and breach of bail.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on August 28.

A 16-year-old Harristown girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, attempted enter swelling with intent, attempted enter dwelling with intent to commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

She has been remanded in custody to appear in the Toowoomba Childrens Court on July 4.
