Other patrols pursued the vehicle through the western suburbs for several minutes, with the driver abandoning the car on Hanson Road and running away.

After setting up cordons around the area, and using other resources including a police dog to help in the search, the suspect was located hiding on the roof of a house in Ninth Street, Woodville North just before 11pm.

The 32-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with multiple offences including driving in a dangerous manner, engaging in a police pursuit, driving a vehicle with unassigned number plates and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
