Arrest following Ringwood homicide

Homicide detectives have charged a 29-year-old man over the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in Ringwood in April, Victoria Police say.

The shooting allegedly occurred on Wantirna Road about 1am on 17 April.

The Essendon man was found in the driveway of a Barkly Street property with a fatal gunshot wound.

A Glen Waverley man was arrested yesterday (31 August).

The man has been charged with one count of murder and one count of cultivate cannabis.

He is appearing at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening for a remand hearing.

The charges follow a series of warrants which were executed at premises in Brighton, Brighton East, Bentleigh, Vermont and Balwyn North as part of an ongoing investigation into cannabis cultivation.
