Arrest over crime on Brisbane's northside

Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man in relation to a number of serious criminal offences committed across Brisbane’s northside., Queensland Police say

A warrant had been issued for his arrest in relation to an alleged burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle incident.

The man was last night located and taken into custody at a home on Boronia Street on Bribie Island.

This arrest was the result of a targeted and coordinated operation involving a range of officers from property crime teams, general duties, tactical crime squads, Criminal Investigation Branches, intelligence officers and the dog squad.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said the arrest was the result of tenacious police work.

"We have been focused on bringing a person alleged to have committed a number of serious offences before the Court and we have done just that," Detective Superintendent Fleming said.

"The community can be confident that the police are working to keep them safe.

"I continue to be impressed by the commitment and effort of our officers."

The man has been charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of burglary and commit indictable offence and driving without a licence and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man appeared in Petrie Magistrates Court this afternoon and has been remanded in custody to reappear again on October 12.
