Arrests following series of incidents across Ballarat

Ballarat Divisional Response Unit detectives have arrested a number of people following a series of alleged incidents across the area, Victoria Police say.

They include a number of alleged commercial burglaries at car washes within the area over the past month.

Five search warrants were executed across Wendouree, Ballarat East and Miners Rest this morning.

The warrants followed two alleged police car rammings in the Delacombe area about 1.20am yesterday morning.

No one was injured during the incidents.

Police today arrested eight people, including a:

-24-year-old Miners Rest woman, who has been charged with drug-related offences including trafficking methamphetamine

-18-year-old Miners Rest woman, charged with bail-related offences

-27-year-old Wendouree woman, charged with drug and theft-related offences

-19-year-old Wendouree man, charged with aggravated carjacking, arson, assault and drug-related offences

-24-year-old Wendouree man, charged for outstanding warrants in relation to unrelated matters

-17-year-old Wendouree woman, charged with theft and using false number plates; and a

-27-year-old Ballarat East man, charged with burglary and theft-related offences at car wash businesses.

The investigation is ongoing.
