The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested two adult males in relation to an aggravated assault and unlawful entry that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.
At 7am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of an unlawful entry at a residence in The Gap. It is alleged two males, one armed with a blunt weapon, damaged windows at the residence before unlawfully entering through a rear door.
The sole occupant, a 48-year-old male, was allegedly struck to the arm by one of the offenders with the blunt weapon.
Police attended and both males were arrested at the scene. The 29-year-old was conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the offending, where he remains in police custody. The 39-year-old was conveyed to the Alice Springs Watch House.
The victim, who is known to the offenders, suffered bruising and was assessed at the scene.
A crime scene was established and investigations are ongoing.
