Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three people following a burglary in Roxburgh Park last month.
Police will allege that two of the trio committed a burglary to the property on Correll Way on 21 March, stealing a number of items before fleeing the scene.
A fatal house fire occurred at the same residence two days prior on 19 March.
A 48-year-old woman, a resident of the home, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of the non-suspicious fire.
The woman later died in hospital.
Investigators allege the burglary occurred while the woman's family was in hospital by her bedside.
On 6 April, detectives executed three search warrants in the Mickleham, Roxburgh Park, and Craigieburn areas.
They located and seized a number of personal items from the Correll Way property, as well as an unregistered firearm.
A 37-year-old Mickleham man has since been charged with aggravated burglary, (2x) burglary, unlicenced driving, commit indictable offence whilst on bail, theft, attempt to obtain property by deception, deal with proceeds of crime, handle stolen goods and possess drug of dependence.
He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 17 April.
A 38-year-old Roxburgh Park man has since been charged with (2x) burglary, theft, attempt to obtain property by deception and handle stolen goods.
He was bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 14 April.
A 39-year-old Craigieburn man was charged with possess drug of dependence and possess unregistered firearm.
He was bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magusrartes' Court on 1 October.
