Arrests – Unlawful Entry – Malak

Officers from Strike Force Trident have arrested six youths following an alleged unlawful entry in Malak.

Police were called to a report of intruders on premises around 1:00am this morning when a witness sighted the youths attempting to gain entry to the Malak business by kicking the door.

Police arrived while the witness was still on the phone and the four youths were arrested. The four males, one aged 12 and three aged 14, were found with a number of stolen items in their possession including car keys and watches.

All four were taken to the Darwin Watch House. Three of the youths have been released for consideration for Youth Diversion.

The other two males, aged 13 and 14, were found nearby at Malak Shops.

The 12-year-old and the 13-year-old were taken home and released into the care of a responsible adult and will be considered for Youth Diversion.

One of the 14-year-olds has been charged with:

• 1 x Breach of Bail

• 1 x Unlawful Entry Dwelling

• 1 x Unlawful Entry of a Building

• 2 x Criminal Damage

• 2 x Stealing

• 1 x Unlawful Use Motor Vehicle
