Approximately 04:30am on Sunday 14 February 2021 emergency services responded to a house fire at 38 Wyndham Road, Claremont. Damage to the house is estimated to be $250,000.
The house was occupied at the time, however, there were no injuries. A preliminary investigation conducted by Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service has indicated that the fire was deliberately lit.
Investigations are being conducted by Glenorchy CIB to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
Police would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to the fire or suspicious activity in the area around the time. Information can be provided to police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
